NAMED SCHOLARSHIP OR BOOK AWARD

Individuals, families, businesses and organizations are encouraged to sponsor a scholarship for a minimum contribution of $200. Scholarships can be sponsored for a one-time award, or you may choose to continue your sponsorship for a number of years. You can choose the name you prefer (ex. John Jones Scholarship, Robert Smith Family Scholarship). Contributions of $100 or $150 can be awarded as named Book Awards. Book Awards are presented to students to bring their total scholarship package to a minimum of $1,500.

For further information on sponsoring a named scholarship or book award, call Joan Kent at 401-431-1675 or email Susan Allienello at sallienello@epschoolsri.com.

MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIPS – REMEMBER A LOVED ONE

A memorial scholarship is a wonderful way to pay tribute to a loved one who has passed away. But for many families and organizations, administering a scholarship on their own – recruiting applicants, preparing objective forms, evaluating applications, selecting recipients and presenting awards – can be a burden.

Residents of East Providence can take advantage of the expertise and experience of Scholarship Foundation of East Providence. For more than 50 years, the independent charitable organization has administered thousands of scholarships for businesses, organizations and families in our community. For information on establishing a memorial scholarship, call Joan Kent at (401) 431-1675 or email jkent737@aol.com.

 REUNION SCHOLARSHIPS

East Providence High School reunion classes can share their Townie Pride with future alumni by sponsoring a reunion scholarship. When planning your reunion event and sending out information, request a donation to Scholarship Foundation of East Providence in the name of your class (ex. EPHS Class of 1966 Scholarship). You may choose to hold a raffle or silent auction at your reunion with the proceeds used for a scholarship.

Or you may wish to raise funds for your class scholarship by participating in the annual phone-a-thon. In recent years, we have conducted this event virtually, with volunteers making phone calls from the safety of their own homes. All contributions from members of your class will be used to sponsor a class scholarship. East Providence High School classes of 1950, 1955, 1962, 1964 1965, 1973, 1974 and 1985 all sponsor scholarships. Interested EPHS reunion class members can contact Louise Paiva at 401-433-3463 or email gonewalkin@cox.net for information or to register to participate.
